You\u00b4re shown Harpa, the venue of Iceland\u00b4s best music life, the home of the Icelandic Symphony and Opera and it is also a.o. home of Air Waves.<\/p>\n

The tour takes you to the harbour and on a whale watching tour and shows you the various eat-outs in that area. \u00a0You\u00b4re shown some great walking tours within Reykjav\u00edk a.o. to the beach but believe it or not a.o. some of the passtimes of the locals is to swim in the icecold sea in Nauth\u00f3lsv\u00edk.<\/p>\n

You\u00b4re shown one of the finest hotels in Reykjav\u00edk the 4 star Hilton Nordica. It\u00b4s pointed out to you that you can take a day\u00b4s tour from the hotel and that it\u00b4s amazing how much you can actually see in only 1 day! \u00a0For example you can drive the \u201eGolden Circle,” which consists of 3 highlights: The Thingvellir National Park, The Geothermal Geysir area where you can see spouting hotsprings and then thirdly the beautiful waterfall, Gullfoss (Icelandic for Golden Waterfall<\/strong> Gull = Gold and Foss= Waterfall). \u00a0By Geysir you can experience eating geothermically cooked bread, which simply is burried in the ground and cooks for 24hrs at 80\u00b0 Celsius.<\/p>\n

You\u00b4re shown typical stretches of long beaches with black sand, which originate from many of the volcanic erruptions that Iceland has endured over the centuries.<\/p>\n

Then it is suggested that you see at least once in your lifetime the Northern Lights or the Aurora Borealis as it\u00b4s name is in Latin. They are mainly visible from september to march.<\/p>\n

Then there is always the option to take one of Icelandair\u00b4s inland airplanes to the various towns all over Iceland for example \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur \u00ed the western part af Iceland, Akureyri in the North and from there you can explore some of Iceland\u00b4s most beautiful natural gems and a day tour in Akureyri is highly suggested.<\/p>\n

You can also travel out of the country whereas only a 2 hr. flight away from Iceland to the north, you can visit Greenland.<\/p>\n

In the end your given a lesson on how to pronounce Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull!<\/p>\n

Well, but wait NO Golf???? \u00a0Somehow Icelandair seems to have overlooked the latest attraction to foreigners who visit Iceland – it\u00b4s Iceland\u00b4s 65 golf courses. Golf is the 2. most popular sport in Iceland.<\/p>\n

Let alone in Reykjav\u00edk and surroundings there are 10 beautiful courses you can choose from – and you can also rent a car and take the ferry to the Westmanna Islands or even make it simpler fly; with Icelandair to the islands and play one of the most unique golfcourse in the world there; The Westmanna Islands golf course.<\/p>\n

And another suggestion: fly with Icelandair to H\u00f6fn \u00ed Hornafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in the east of Iceland and play golf on the 9 hole Silfurnes golf course with a beautiful view on the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnaj\u00f6kull. The course might surprise you, but in any case the view is breathtaking.<\/p>\n

The towns mentioned in the video \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and Akureyri both have beautiful golfcourses and Akureyri actually boasts of having 3, despite only one 18 hole course.<\/p>\n
