Axel B\u00f3asson is one of those Icelanders who play golf collegically in the US, on the Mississippi State\u00b4s Bulldog\u00b4s golfteam. Axel is without doubt one of Iceland\u00b4s best golfers. He is a.o. the Icelandic Champion in Stroke Play, 2011. \u00a0Here goes the interview with Axel:<\/p>\n

What is your name?\u00a0<\/em>Axel B\u00f3asson.<\/p>\n

Which Golf Club are you a member of in Iceland?\u00a0<\/em>The Golf Club Keilir in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.<\/p>\n

Where and when were you born?<\/em>\u00a0 In Reykjavik, June 3rd 1990.<\/p>\n

Where were you raised?<\/em>\u00a0In Gar\u00f0ab\u00e6r, Iceland.<\/p>\n

What is your family status and does anyone in your family play golf?<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0Everyone plays golf in my family except my girlfriend, my mother, father, sister and my brother.<\/p>\n

When did you start playing golf?<\/em> When I was 8 years old.<\/p>\n

Why did you start playing golf?<\/em> Everyone in my family played golf and I wanted to give it a try.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What are you studying in the States? \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Finance.<\/p>\n

Describe a typical schoolday of yours at\u00a0<\/i>Mississippi State?\u00a0<\/em>7-8 gym, 9-12 school, 2-5 golf, the rest of the day is spent studying or something else.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What did you like the best about being in the US, when you first got there?\u00a0<\/em>Golf and to play for the team.<\/p>\n

On the other hand; what did you dislike about the US? \u00a0<\/em>The food.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give young golfers who are thinking about studying in the States and want to play on a US College golfteam? \u00a0To prepare themselves well in advance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What is the difference between the golfcourses in Iceland and the US? <\/em>The gras and the length.<\/p>\n

What is your longest drive?\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0370 meters (404 yards).<\/p>\n

What is you greatest achievement in golf to date?<\/em>\u00a0 \u00a0The 8th place in the\u00a0International European Amateur Championship, which took place, August 8th-11th 2012 on the Montgomerie golfcourse of Carton House \u00a0in Ireland. (Axel had a total score of 5 under par, 283 strokes (71 74 68 70) ).<\/p>\n

Have you ever scored a hole in one? \u00a0Yes, twice.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

What snack do you have in the bag? <\/i>\u00a0Two homemade sandwiches and two k\u00f3k\u00f3mj\u00f3lk (Icelandic chocolate bevarage) \u2013 \u00a0does the trick every time!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Have you participated in any other sports? \u00a0Yes, soccer and handball<\/i>.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite food, favorite music, favorite movie and favorite book?<\/i>\u00a0My favorite food is something of the grill, made by my father; \u00a0I don\u00b4t listen much to music; my favorite movie now at this time is Avenger; my favorite book: I don\u00b4t read much in my sparetime.<\/p>\n

Who are your favorite golfer name 1 male and 1 female?<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0 Female.: \u00a0Tinna J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir (cousin, who plays on the LET Access series). Male: Tiger Woods.<\/p>\n

What would be your dream foursome? \u00a0Me and…… <\/i>Tiger Woods, Rory McIlory and John Daly.What\u00b4s in the bag? \u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Are you superstitious?<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0Yes a little. I always have the same scrub in my pocket, a golf fork, an Icelandic coin and 3 tee.<\/p>\n

What is your maingoal in golf and in life?<\/em>\u00a0To become better and become a professional, and just enjoy life.<\/p>\n

What do you like the best about golf?<\/em>\u00a0 \u00a0I have seen a great deal of the world by playing golf and one has learned much by taking part in this sport.<\/p>\n
