There were 4 Icelandic golfers that played golf on tournaments abroad last week.<\/p>\n

We are all so proud of\u00a0Birgir Leifur Haf\u00fe\u00f3rsson<\/strong>, GKG, who made the cut at the\u00a0ALLIANZ Open C\u00f4tes d\u00b4Armor Bretagne tournament, which took place at the Golf Blue Green Pl\u00e9neuf Val Andr\u00e9 Golf Course in Pl\u00e9neuf, France. The tournament is part of the Challenge Tour in Europe. \u00a0Birgir Leifur finished T-26 along with 6 others. \u00a0His total score was +9 over par, 289 strokes \u00a0(73 69 72 75). The one who won the tournament was Eddie Pepperell<\/strong> from England, who had a combined score of 277 strokes as did Dane Jeppe Huldahl<\/strong>. So there was a playoff which Pepperell won on the 1st hole.<\/p>\n

Tinna J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, GK took part in the\u00a0Kristianstad \u00c5hus Ladies Open,in Sweden, the tournament being part of the LET Access Series. Participants in the tournament were 120. \u00a0Unfortunatelly Tinna didn\u00b4t make the cut. She had a combined score of +15 over par, 159 strokes (76 83). \u00a0The scores were rather high, the best scores after 2 days of play was Melodie Bourdie<\/strong>\u00b4s from France, who played on even par, 144 strokes (70 74). She is the sister of Gr\u00e9gory Bourdy who plays on the European Tour.<\/p>\n

In the 3rd and final round Norwegian Cecilie Lundgreen<\/strong> won with a score of 77 strokes.<\/p>\n

R\u00fanar Arn\u00f3rsson<\/strong>, GK, participated in the Irish Amateur Open. \u00a0Just as Tinna, he didn\u00b4t make the cut. R\u00fanar finished with a combined score of +15 over par, 159 strokes (79 80) and was 7 strokes from making the cut.<\/p>\n

The tournament was held at the links of the Royal\u00a0Dublin Golf Club, May 11th-13th. You can see pics of the links at the Royal Dublin\u00b4s homepage \u00a0click \u00a0HERE:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

And finally \u00d3laf\u00eda \u00de\u00f3runn Kristinsd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, GR and Wake Forest, participated in the\u00a0NCAA D1 Women\u00b4s East Regional at the Golf Course of Penn State in Pennsylvania, US of A.<\/p>\n

The Regionals took place May 10th through May 12th.<\/p>\n

\u00d3laf\u00eda \u00de\u00f3runn finished with a combined score of +14 over par, 230 strokes (77 78 75). She had the 4th best score of her team. Cheyenne Woods, Tiger\u00b4s<\/strong> niece had the best score.<\/p>\n

The Wake Forest team ended placed 14th of the 24 Colleges that participated.<\/p>\n
