Here comes the last of the 7 interviews that Golf 1 took at the C\u00e1diz Cup, at Arcos Gardens in Andalucia, Spain, May 5th 2011. The last one is with a fabulous, french golfer, Coralie Cicuto, who was one of the winners at C\u00e1diz Cup. \u00a0She a.o. writes about golf in France. Here goes the interview:<\/p>\n

Name:<\/em>\u00a0Coralie Cicuto.<\/p>\n

Where were you born?: <\/em>I was born in\u00a0\u00a0Maison Laffitte, November 8th 1985.<\/p>\n

Where were you raised?<\/em> \u00a0In Sergy, a suburb of Paris.<\/p>\n

What are your familystatus<\/em>? I\u00b4m single, I rent a flat and have a roommate.<\/p>\n

When did you start playing golf?<\/em> \u00a0 In 1994. I was 9 years old.<\/p>\n

Why did you start playing golf? \u00a0<\/em>Because of my dad, he is a golfer and worked as a caddy.<\/p>\n

What do you prefer a parkland course or a links? \u00a0<\/em>Parkland golfcourses.<\/p>\n

How many golfcourses are in France?<\/em> I am not sure. I guess they\u00b4re around 600-800. (Well good guess Coralie! According to the World report of KPMG there are 578<\/strong> golfcourses in France, in 2011.<\/p>\n

The Morfontain Club House<\/p><\/div>\n

What is your favorite golfcourse in France?<\/em>\u00a0 Morfountain in Paris. (According to www.top100golfcourses.com it is the no. 1 golfcourse in France, i.e. the best one! ). Golf\u00a0Morfountain GC war built 1913 when the Duke of Guiche got his fathers permission to build a 9 holu golfcourse on an old hockey pitch in the Valli\u00e9re park for the pleasure of himself and his friends. When the course opened golf-pro James Braide and French Champions Jean Gassiat and Arnaud Massy played the first round. During World War 1 the Duke opened the course for the public and in 1927 a Golf Club was founded – \u00a0Golf Club Association – which is still in function\u2013 The course is 5895 meters, par-70 and not the longest one in France).<\/p>\n

What is the most special golfcourse you have played on?<\/em>\u00a0Saint Nom La Breteche. \u00a0 Le Golf de Saint nom la Breteche is situated west of Paris and 8 km south of Saint-Nom La Breteche. \u00a0You can see the website of the Club\u00a0HERE:<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0There are two 18 hole golfcourses, which were designed in 1959 and 1960 by Fred Hawtree and one 5 hole practice course, which opened 2000. Le golf de Saint-Nom La Breteche is internatioanally renowned because of the annual Troph\u00e9e Lanc\u00f4me, which is an invite and the course is closed during the tournament.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite club?<\/em>\u00a0My putter.<\/p>\n

What is your occupation?<\/em>\u00a0 I write about golf.<\/p>\n

What is the best thing about golf?\u00a0<\/em>How demanding it is and what it has to offer and that one can endlessly learn something new.<\/p>\n

Do you notice an increased interest in golf in France and is it considered eliterian?\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0Golf is considered a rich mans sport \u2013 there are not many who can afford to pay \u20ac50 for 1 round og golf.<\/p>\n
