Member of which\u00a0Golf Club are you?:<\/em> The Golf Club Leynir (GL) in Akranes.<\/p>\n Where and when were you born<\/em>? \u00a0In Akranes, October 16th 1998.<\/p>\n Where were raised?<\/em> \u00a0My family moved to Sweden when I was 2 months old and I lived there the first 2 years of my life – then I lived 3 months in Akureyri (the capital of North Iceland with 10.293 inhabitants according to the Icelandic Bureau of Statistics) and after that we moved to Akranes and I have lived here ever since.<\/p>\n What is your familystatus?<\/em>\u00a0 I have 1 brother, who\u00b4s 16, \u00de\u00f3r\u00f0ur and a 5 year old sister, Katr\u00edn. \u00a0My dad sometimes plays golf and my mom plays now and then.<\/p>\n When did you start playing golf?<\/em> Four years ago, when I was 8-9 years old.<\/p>\n Why did you start playing golf?<\/em> All my friends played golf and I went on the course with them and enjoyed it.<\/p>\n What is your occupation?<\/em> I\u00b4m a student. I go to the 8th class in Grundarsk\u00f3li, Akranes.<\/p>\n What do you prefer a parkland or links style golfcourse?<\/em> I prefer parkland golfcourses.<\/p>\n What do you prefer match play competitions or stroke play?<\/em> Stroke play, because then one isn\u00b4t competing against someone else – one has only oneself to think about.<\/p>\n What is your favorite golfcourse in Iceland?<\/em> Gar\u00f0av\u00f6llur in Akranes. (A beautiful 18 hole golfcourse, which will be introduced later here on Golf 1).<\/p>\n The par-3 3rd on Gar\u00f0av\u00f6llur, the golfcourse of Golf Club Akraness. Gar\u00f0av\u00f6llur is Stef\u00e1n Teiturs favorite golfcourse. The blueprint for this beautiful par-3 which in fact bears the name Skr\u00fa\u00f0ur (eng.: Beauty) is the 16th (Redbud) at Augusta National. Photo: Golf 1<\/p><\/div>\n What is your favorite golfcourse anywhere else in the world except for Iceland?<\/em> I have always wanted to play golf on St. Andrews in Scotland.<\/p>\n What is the most special golfcourse you have played golf on and why?<\/em> Grafarholtsv\u00f6llur (An 18 hole par-71 golfcourse – one of The Golfclub of Reykjav\u00edk\u00b4s (GR) 3 golfcourses). The reason: because of the layout.<\/p>\n What is your handicap?<\/em>\u00a0\u00a014,3<\/p>\n What is your best score and on which golfcourse did you achieve it?<\/em> A 79 on Gar\u00f0av\u00f6llur (the Club Championship) and another 79 \u00a0on Hamarsv\u00f6llur in Borgarnes (at the Junior Match Play Championship).<\/p>\n How long is your longest drive?<\/em> I think 245 meters, but I got alot of tailwind (that was on the 16th in Akranes, in the beginning of July 2011).<\/p>\n What is your biggest accomplishment in golf up till this day? To ace the 16th on Hamarsv\u00f6llur in Borgarnes.<\/p>\n What snack do you have in your bag? I have a sandwich and a Corny proteinbar.<\/p>\n Have you participated in any other sports? Yes, in soccer and badminton with \u00cdA.<\/p>\n What is your favorite food, your favorite drink, your favorite music, your favorite movie and your favorite book? \u00a0<\/em>My favorite food is Chicken in mangosauce<\/strong>, my favorite drink is orangejuice<\/strong>; my favorite music, well I\u00b4m not sure Usher<\/strong> and sometimes rapp<\/strong>, Eminem all types of music<\/strong>; my favorite movie is Bruce Almighty<\/strong>, my favorite book is Rau\u00f0u augun<\/strong> (The Red Eyes) by Icelandic author Helgi J\u00f3nsson (It\u00b4s a story about a Turkish Pirate that attacks the Vestmanna Islands).<\/p>\n \u00a0What are your favorite golfers name 1 female and 1 male golfer?<\/em> Female: Vad\u00eds \u00de\u00f3ra, she\u00b4s my cousin (…and also one of Iceland\u00b4s best female golfer, and will be introduced here on Golf 1 later) Male: Camillo Vilegas<\/p>\n What is your favorite club?<\/em> The 6-iron.<\/p>\n Have you been to a golf instructor?<\/em> Yes, Karl \u00d3mar, he\u00b4s the golf instructor here in Akranes.<\/p>\n Are you superstitious?<\/em> No.<\/p>\n What is your maingoal in golf and in life?<\/em> In golf: to get as far as I can, to reach my potential. My maingoal in life is to stay healthy and live a healthy life.<\/p>\n What do you like the best about golf?<\/em> The golfcourses, they are in such beautiful environment.<\/p>\n What\u00b4s in the bag?<\/em> My driver, a 3-tree, a hybrid, a 5-iron, 6-iron, 7-iron, 8-iron, 9-iron, my 48\u00b0 and 56\u00b0 wedges and my putter.<\/p>\n And lastly: Do you have some advice for other golfers?<\/em> One always has to stay calm in stressful situations.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Stef\u00e1n Teitur \u00de\u00f3r\u00f0arson, 13 yrs., aced the 16th at Golf Club Borgarnes last year, whilst taking part in the Icelandic Junior Match Play Championship held by the Icelandic Golf Association on July 26th 2011 at Hamarsv\u00f6llur in Borgarnes.
