There is an ongoing debate whether to use the word golfbolti or golfk\u00fala for golfball in Icelandic. The Icelandic Golf Association has translated the term golfball or ball with golfbolti or bolti in the Icelandic translation of the Rules of R&amp;A. So bolti or golfbolti is the offical term for golfball in Icelandic.<\/p>\n<p>However, many prefer to use golfk\u00fala.\u00a0 K\u00fala in Icelandic has a broader meaning referring to any roundshaped objects such as for example j\u00f3lak\u00fala (pron j\u00f3= similar to the jo in jo-jo in English + la = j\u00f3la=meaning christmas + k\u00fala = christmas(ball)ornament.).
